This body of work was created during the Artist in Residence that Steve McKenzie had in Tuscany at La Fortezza, the residence and workshop space of Annette Joseph. The work was presented in a show July 27, 2019. The title of the show is Raccogliendo il Passato, Collecting the Past. It is based on the writings Steve studied in the local village library, Fivizzano. They are works from the 17th and 18th century that Steve digitally captured. In addition a visit to the Mueso Statue Stele Museum of Etruscan Stele in the town of Pontremoli and a visit to the working studio of sculptor Neal Barab in Pietrasanta influenced Steve's 3D works. The Carrara marble works are from Neal's studio then Steve painted on them.
